1. System Configuration
Ensure that you have disabled UAC (Vista and Windows 7).
Disable UAC Instructions
Computer User Security Rights (Vista and Windows 7)- To install and use add-on components, you will be required to have administrative rights on your computer to install software. To review if your profile has these rights, right click on the SAP Dashboards program and “Run as Administrator.” If you are prompted for a login you will need to contact your IT department to obtain the necessary access rights to your PC.
2. Check your SAP Dashboards Version #
It is very important you know exactly what version of SAP Dashboards you are running so you can ensure CMaps Plugin is compatible. The following are minimum version requirements for SAP Dashboards and SAP BusinessObjects:
SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards Versions: 6.0.4 and Greater
SAP BusinessObjects: BI4 SP04 and greater
3. Install CMapsPluginTrial .XLX File
Upon signing up for a trial, you will receive an email containing a link to obtain the XLX file. An XLX file is a package that can be installed right into SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards or Xcelsius using the built-in Add-on Manager.
1. Open SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards or SAP Crystal Dashboard Design
2. Go to File>Add-On Manager
3. In versions of SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards 6.0.3 and later if you already have a version of GMaps Plugin installed, you will need to remove it first before adding the new XLX.
4. Click Install Add-On
5. Navigate to the directory where you have your XLX trial for CMaps Plugin.
6. Select the XLX file.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you are using the correct version of CMaps Plugin that is compatible with your version of Xcelsius. View requirements and compatibility
6. Click “Close”
7. Click “Save and Close”
8. You can chose to save or not save your dashboard at this point before SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards closes.
9. Re-open SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards or SAP Crystal Dashboard Design
10. Your component is now ready to use within the Components window, at the bottom of the Maps folder.
4. Obtain your CMaps Plugin Trial Key
Upon downloading a trial from Centigon Solutions website, you will receive a second email containing a 20 digit key that looks similar to the following image.
If you don’t have your key, please contact Centigon sales to obtain a 30 day key.
1. Copy and paste the trial key into your dashboard spreadsheet.
2. On the CMaps Plugin General tab, there is a “Key” property. Bind this property to the cell containing your key to activate and use the plugin.

Troubleshooting CMaps Plugin Trial
SYMPTOM: I never got a CMaps Plugin Trial key.
SOLUTION: If you downloaded a trial prior to Jan 3 2013, you will want to return and download the latest trial for CMaps Plugin. If you did use the trial download form and didn’t get an email containing a trial key, please check your spam folder or contact Centigon Solutions sales directly.
SYMPTOM:Â When I restart Xcelsius, I get errors thrown or the canvas shows up black.
SOLUTION:Â This is caused when you install CMaps Plugin into a Flex 2 version of SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards (earlier than 6.0.3). You need to ensure that you have a more recent verison of SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards or contact Centigon sales to obtain an older version of GMaps Plugin.
SYMPTOM:Â When I preview my dashboard works OK, but when I publish to my server I get the following error:
“Deployment to domains is not supported with the trial version of CMaps plugin. If you need support to demo the trial on your domain, please click OK and we will be happy to assist you. Please include the following URL in your support request:â€�
SOLUTION: This is expected behavior for the trial version. You will require an enterprise trial of CMaps Plugin which can only be obtained by contacting our sales support team who can work with you to upgrade your trial.
